What CEOs value more than college

Every week lately, I hear the same thing from CEOs, founders, and hiring managers: “We don’t care about degrees anymore.”

It’s not that college is useless. For some careers - medicine, law, engineering - it’s still a ticket to the game. But in the industries that are shaping the next 20 years - AI, climate, tech, product, media, genetics, space, etc - what matters most is how fast you can learn, adapt, and ship real results.

The winners? People with agency. The ones who can take a vague idea, rally resources, build momentum from nothing, and get something into the world without waiting for permission.

And this is exactly what we're trying to teach via this program. Design an idea. Rally resources. Ignite momentum. Get something deployed. It doesn't just apply to startups - it applies to everything. Want to learn how to design self-landing rockets? Want to understand how software supports fleets of robotics? Want to get you HVAC license with the goal of owning a local HVAC company one day? Want to be a therapist who niches down on modern changes to mental health? It applies to all of it.

If you have agency, you can learn new tools in weeks. You can master an unfamiliar market in months. You can pivot when the world changes—and the world is changing constantly.

"In fact, top employers today aren’t “even talking about degrees” anymore, the Great Place to Work CEO Michael Bush, previously told Fortune. “They’re talking about skills.”

And here’s the kicker- those skills aren’t taught in school. They’re learned by doing, by breaking things, by taking big swings. The market is already rewarding people who can move fast, solve hard problems, and self-direct.

If we were to compare, every year moving forward will compress into the pace of a decade from the past. Opportunities will appear and vanish faster. The skill gap between those who adapt and those who hesitate will widen into a chasm. Audacity and adaptability will become the baseline for success—yet the traditional system still trains for stability, not speed.

Speed wins. Agency wins. And no amount of framed paper on your wall can replace that.

This is what we're focusing on. Speed. Audacity. Agency.
